The city of Bansko is one of the Bulgarian resorts that was transformed in a drastic way during recent years. The relation to landscape changed and the promotion of it as an image to be consumed and not as a space to be experienced was something that struck me profoundly.
The term “Under Construction” is relevant both to the site and to the art piece at the same time.
Composed by ceramic, drawings, wood and mirrors, the piece is a miniature landscape presented in a kind of display stand. This set of elements is never presented the same way and is aimed at becoming. Although materially present in the exhibition spaces, Bansko under construction present an absence or an incompleteness.
